I am the type of person who loves to buy beauty products made from natural ingredients, but sometimes I love to go into my kitchen and be able to create a homemade remedy or natural beauty concoction! and let me tell you, coffee has been one that I keep going back to. Coffee is full of antioxidants and nutrients that can help improve our skin. To find out ways to use it, read on!

1. Face Exfoliator

It helps lift up dead skin cells and cleans out your pores which brightens the skin and may also help with acne. Mix 1 teaspoon of coffee grounds with water, if you feel is too harsh you can mix with unsweetened coconut milk until you get a paste, then gently rub your face. Make sure to avoid the area around the eyes, then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

2. Chapped Lips

If you get dry or cracked lips, you will love this! Mix 1/2 teaspoon of coffee grounds with honey until you get a paste and gently rub your lips in a circular motion, then rinse with lukewarm water or remove with a wet washcloth. You will have luscious kissable lips in under 30 seconds!

3. Reduce puffy under-eyes:

Thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties in caffeine and blood flow stimulation is believe to help reduce eye puffiness. Add a thin layer of coffee grounds paste to the under-eye area and leave for 5-10 minutes then rinse gently.

4. Body Scrub:

It is believed caffeine can help dilate blood vessels, therefore helping in the reduction of dimples in the skin. Use a mix of coffee and coconut oil, rub in a circular motion and massage on cellulite-prone areas. I like to do this in the shower since it is easier to rinse. I also use it for dry cracked feet, you can add sugar or salt for a stronger mechanical exfoliator.

5. Mask:

If you don't like to scrub or you want to mix it up once in a while instead of exfoliating, then a mask is the way to go! Apply as a paste, do not rub unless you want to exfoliate while rinsing.

*All in One*: 1/4 cup of coffee grounds, 1/4 cup coconut milk (you could use regular milk), 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (if you have dry skin you can replace with virgin olive oil), 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix all ingredients, apply to the face, let dry for 20 minutes and rinse.

*Clear Skin*: 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of coconut milk. Mix all ingredients, apply to the face, let dry for 15 minutes and rinse.

*Glowing Skin*: 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds, 1 tablespoon of yogurt, and 1 tablespoon of tumeric. Mix all ingredients, apply to the face, let dry for 20 minutes and rinse.

*Tighten Skin*: 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of yogurt. Mix all ingredients, apply to the face, let dry for 15 minutes and rinse.

You can add more or less milk to make the paste thicker or thinner. I like to add it little by little until the preferred consistency.

Ingredients Benefits:

Coffee: Is high in antioxidants, increases circulation, helps reduce puffiness, gets rid of dead skin.

Coconut Milk: is highly moisturizing and helps to combat dryness.

Honey: has antibacterial properties, helps with acne.

Lemon Juice: high on vitamin C, which helps brighten the skin. Can be used as an astringent.

Yogurt: contains lactic acid which helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and fine lines. It helps tighten and shrink pores. It is also a great moisturizer

Turmeric: it is anti-inflammatory, helps with acne breakouts and scarring.

I always use the leftover coffee grounds from the Nespresso coffee capsules, but you can use the leftover of regular coffee grounds as well. Also, you could use coconut oil instead of water or milk, but instead of rinsing make sure you use a wet washcloth. This way you won't throw coconut oil into your plumbing which can harden and mess up the pipes!

Please note I am not a beauty or skin expert and this is my honest opinion

based on my personal experience.

Much Love,

Jash
